"Is Vanessa Hudgens Getting Eclipsed?: In what might be welcome news to Twi-hards and Fanpires out there (or, horrible news for “HSM” devotees), Vanessa Hudgens is not going to be making an appearance in “New Moon,” as the character Leah – at least not yet. “I’m not sure about [final] casting but I had heard Vanessa Hudgens was going up for the part of Leah [Clearwater, a werewolf],” screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who wrote both films, told People at the 61st Annual Directors Guild of America Awards in Los Angeles Saturday night. “But at the moment, the part of Leah doesn’t happen until the third movie.” So, it could be awhile before fans get to see Vanessa go “Teen Wolf” – that is, if it happens at all."

i don't like high school musical and personally i think she will ruin it! the books are just amazing and to be honest i don't think she would fit the role well although leah can be like how i imagine vanessa would be, i don't think she is right for the part and i kind of imagined leah with blodie brown hair anyway :P
