Stephenie Meyer Plagiarism law suit is a lie

There have been rumors going around that Stephenie Meyer is being sued for Plagiarism which also halted the filming of New Moon. According to the Examiner, these rumors are false. Summit denied the rumors and filming for New Moon is still going.
Summit Entertainment wants everyone to know that the rumor about Twilight author Stephanie Meyer being accused of plagiarism are not true.

This rumor is completely ridiculous. Four books have been released and widely read, one movie is released and widely watched at theaters and was a huge success on DVD. Another movie is filming and another is still casting. Out of the clear blue sky comes an allegation of plagiarism? Please, get a grip. (For anyone who doesn't know what Plagiarism is, it is the theft of someone else's writing).

Such a huge problem like this would of come to light years ago and nobody in Hollywood would of been able to hide it. It would of been on the cover of every entertainment section of every newspaper and magazine in the world.

This movie is a go, there is no stopping it. What needs to stop are bloggers and other journalists who don't do their job, pick up a phone and ask a simple question. Then actually listen to the answer and report the truth and not something made up to grab some readers.

"Tweens are the people this type of lie will hurt. "Tweens are waiting for this film and if they believe trash written by someone who doesn't know the first thing about Hollywood. The first thing about the movie industry, or even who to ask for information, it harms not only the person reading this trash, but the person who tries to write correct, verified information.

umm if you watch the pilot of Roswell you can clearly see where Ms. Meyers got her inspiration, oh except he is an alien not a vampire

I know! LOL. Meyer should be sued. Roswell and Twilight are WAY TOO SIMILAR except Twilight was written nearly 10 years after the Roswell books were.

For example (and these are just a few, I've found nearly 49 so far):

*Both novels feature the supernatural male lead (Max or Edward) having a sister who is hostile towards the human female lead and is seen to beautiful and likened to a model (blonde) - Isabel or Rosalie.
*
*One of the aliens in Roswell has the ability to see the future but only in snippets and these snippets can be changed through intervention (seems like Alice). The other aliens all have a unique ability (Tess can manipulate people, etc). Just like how all the Cullens have their own special abilities.
*In Roswell, the alien teenagers drive a jeep. Just like in Twilight.
*Within the first act, both female mortal leads are nearly killed through a series of unrelated events spiralling out of control. Both are injured in front of many people - a lot of witnesses - but their supernatural boyfriends intervene to save their lives - risking themselves by revealing their own identities and asking the mortal female lead to lie about them saving her. Others of their kind, be it aliens or vampires, arrive into the town and go after the female mortal lead.
*Both female mortal leads and their supernatural boyfriends are paired together in Biology class before they really know each other.
*In Roswell, the alien teenagers keep to themselves at lunch and at the diner - being mysterious and brooding. Just like in Twilight.
*In both series, the town sheriff is the father of one of the human leads.

And many more. Twilight is the most unoriginal novel I have ever read - it's basically Roswell meets the Sookie Stackhouse series ('True Blood') with a lot of emo crap mixed in.

Yep... after reading the Sookie Stackhouse books, I'm highly doubting that Twilight came to her in a 'dream'.

I don't understand why Charlaine Harris isn't suing Meyer for plagiarism.

Stephenie stole from The Nocturne and put paragraphs (in the same order!) in her own damn words. If you read it, you'll understand why. She put nearly half or even 3 quarters of it in breaking dawn.

I haven't seen the tv show but I am reading the Sookie books, I read the Twilight series months ago. I am extremely disappointed in Stephenie Meyer because that is obviously where her ideas came from. The similarities are just too great, even down to the Sam/Jacob parallel. If she dreamed the idea, then it was because she was reading the book before she fell asleep!

Summit Entertainment needs an editor, that opening paragraph is terrible! And it makes a very poor argument for supporting Meyer. Let's face it, you can be wildly popular, go to Hollywood and still have stolen someone's ideas to get there.

I just read The Host, and I cannot believe the DIRECT THEFT that occurs in that book. Meyer writes about alien "symbiotes" infecting human "hosts". In one of her main alien character's rare excursions outside of a secret base, the alien is considered to have odd taste because she orders a burger and fries then dips her fries in her milkshake while eating them. The Stargate SG1 television series centers around the story of alien symbiotes and human hosts, and in episode 5 of season 6, an alien is considered to have odd taste, when on one of his first excursions out from a secret base, he orders onion rings and a burger then dips his onion rings in his milkshake while eating them. Jesus H. Christ, she's *taunting* people with her plagiarism.

I agree with you 110% I'm only part way through season 1 of Roswell (never read the books) and already the similarities are glaring! Not that I had a high opinion of the Twilight books or Stephanie Meyer before, but I'm even more repelled by them now. Roswell may have it's weaknesses, but it's still monumentally better than the Twilight series could ever be. And the author of this post needs a visit to the Grammar Nazi. He/she says "would of" at least three times... the correct grammar is "would have."
